Short Breaks Service

This service is available from 7am until 7pm and is based from your home. It includes:

  • supporting the general day-to-day care needs of your child
  • planning fun play and leisure opportunities on a 1:1 basis (either in the community or at home)
  • inclusion support in mainstream and specialist settings
  • direct payment work
  • supporting you as part of a family day out

If you are interested in booking a short breaks session, please do not hesitate to contact Katy who will arrange a free initial visit to find out all about your family, and what will be required to ensure your child’s needs are met.

Cost:
From £10 per hour.

 
Therapy Programme Support

Does your child have a physiotherapy programme, occupational therapy programme, or speech and language therapy programme? Are you looking for someone to support you with the implementation of an ABA or Son-rise programme?

Katy’s Helping Hands can provide someone who, following training by the relevant therapists, can support you with the daily implementation of such programmes, releasing you to spend time with other family members, or cook the tea, or simply enjoy some time to yourself.

Cost:
£10 per hour.

 
Training

Katy's Helping Hands can offer the following training courses:

  • Introduction to Autism - 2.5 hours (includes half hour break) - £180
  • Visual Supports & Beyond - approx 3 hours (can include specific workshops on request) - £200
  • Autism for children (aged around 7 or 8 and upwards) - approx 1.5 hours (can include a PECS/signing activity) - £150
  • Understanding Behaviour - approx 2 hours - looking at the functions of difficult behaviour and how we can work out what is going on - £150

Autism-Friendly Santa

On a limited basis, we can provide an autism friendly Santa:

  • Experienced in working with children with autism, won't demand eye contact, verbal speech etc.
  • Works best with pre-booked slots with basic information (individual do's and don'ts etc.) on booking sheet.
  • Happy to simply pose for a photo so grandparents get their Christmas photo.
  • Understands anxiety and sensory processing issues.
  • Can include with an elf helper.
  • DBS checked.
